AAA Approved Auto Repair

The Approved Auto Repair (AAR) Program

Q. What are the advantages of using an Auto Club Approved Repair facility?
A. The advantages are threefold: High standards, guaranteed repairs and fair resolution of complaints.

  • High standards -All facilities must meet an established set of criteria before approval is granted. After the facility is approved, we regularly inspect each AAR facility for compliance with our stringent standards.
  • Guaranteed repairs - Parts, labor and mechanical repairs are guaranteed for 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever comes first under normal operating conditions.
  • Fair resolution of complaints - AAR facilities have agreed to accept the Auto Club's decision when a member is concerned about the quality of repairs or service.

    Q. What should I do if I am dissatisfied with the service I receive at an approved facility and I am a member of the Auto Club?
    A. In Southern California - First, discuss your concerns with the management of the facility. If a satisfactory resolution cannot be reached, contact the Auto Club at 1-800-797-4231 weekdays between 9 a.m and 5 p.m.
Non-members should first attempt to settle the matter with the facility management. If not successful, contact the Bureau of Auto Repair (California State Department of Consumer Affairs) at (800) 952-5210.

    Q. What should I do if I have a complaint against a facility that is not Auto Club approved?
    A. You should first attempt to settle the matter with the facility management. If not successful, contact the Bureau of Auto Repair (California State Department of Consumer Affairs) at (800) 952-5210.
